Frequently Asked Questions

The 6 most common questions we hear from procurement, engineering, and facility management teams.

What is the difference between RoHS 2.0 and RoHS 3.0 ESD mats?

RoHS 2.0 (EU Directive 2011/65/EU) restricts 6 hazardous substances — lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB, PBDE. RoHS 3.0 (EU Directive 2015/863) adds 4 phthalate restrictions (DEHP, BBP, DBP, DIBP) for a total of 10 restricted substances. RoHS 3.0 mats are required for products sold in the EU after July 2019. EDAR offers both — most EU customers now request RoHS 3.0.

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

Standard sizes (1.0m × 10m, 1.2m × 10m) — MOQ is 50 rolls. Custom sizes / colors / logos — MOQ is 100 rolls. Sample orders have no MOQ — free samples available with shipping at buyer's cost via DHL/FedEx (3–5 business days).

Do you provide OEM/ODM services?

Yes. Full OEM/ODM including custom formulation, color matching (to Pantone or sample), logo printing on mat backing, private label packaging, and custom thickness/hardness. Lead time: 7 days for samples, 15–25 days for OEM production after sample approval.

What is the shelf life of ESD mats?

2 years in proper storage: temperature 30 ± 10°C, relative humidity 55 ± 15%, avoid direct sunlight and ozone. After 2 years, we recommend re-testing surface resistance before use — most mats maintain performance well beyond 2 years when stored correctly.

Can ESD mats be cut to custom sizes?

Yes. We offer custom cutting to your exact dimensions — circles, irregular shapes, pre-cut workstation kits, and roll-to-strip conversion. Tolerance ±2mm on standard cuts, ±0.5mm on precision CNC cuts. Custom cuts ship within 7 days of PO.

What shipping terms do you offer?

FOB Shanghai or FOB Ningbo are standard. We can also arrange CIF, CNF, or DDP shipping to most major ports worldwide. Consolidated shipping for mixed SKUs (ESD mat + ESD PVC curtain + grounding kit) available on request to reduce per-unit logistics cost.
